2023 pre-season fixtures confirmed

Essex Cricket can today confirm the Club’s pre-season plans ahead of the 2023 season.

The squad will fly out to Abu Dhabi for two weeks of pre-season training which will include both red and white-ball fixtures against Somerset before heading home to complete final preparations with a three-day red-ball fixture away against Kent.

The fixture away at Kent will be free entry for all fans attending over the three days.

Head Coach Anthony McGrath is looking forward to the trip and said: “We’re all delighted to be heading back out to Abu Dhabi again. It’s a chance for the whole squad to be back together after a long winter and get some good practice in. There’s a strong buzz around the Club at the moment and we’re all really excited to get going.

“We’ll play several games out there including a few against Somerset who are a good side, before taking on Kent back in England, but these fixtures will give us a chance to get ourselves organised and sharp before the first game away at Middlesex on April 06.”
