Earlier this year, Essex Ford (part of the Allen Motor Group) kindly provided a Ford Tourneo Custom minibus for Essex County Cricket Club’s Ability Team to get them and their kit to away matches in style with maximum comfort and ease.
We are delighted to share that the Ability Team minibus has now been given a name by the Ability players.
As well as supporting the Essex Men’s First XI success for over 17 years, Essex Ford are extremely proud of Essex Cricket’s work to create excellent, inclusive playing opportunities and pathways for those with special needs and disabilities. Their dedication to ability cricket helps young people living with a disability gain the confidence and skills to be independent.
To make the new minibus feel part of the team, we asked the Ability players to come up with creative name ideas to share with Group Marketing Director for Allen Motor Group, Matt Brown, Community Development Manager, Pat Ward and Aaron Beard, First XI player and Ability Team Ambassador.
After taking time to carefully deliberate, the trio decided on the name ‘The Eagle’, paving the way for the memorable catchphrase, ‘The Eagle Has Landed🦅’. Now the team can announce their matchday arrival in style!
Essex Ford will now begin the task of installing the new name sticker on to the minibus so that everyone can keep track of The Eagle on the move.
We would like to express our gratitude to Essex Ford once again for gifting the minibus to our Ability Team. Their kindness and devotion to our Ability players is outstanding and the Club look forward to developing our partnership further to achieve more together in the future.
