Ben Allison has joined Worcestershire on a three-match loan move until the end of the 2023 season.
Allison, 23, will be eligible for selection in the promotion-chasing Pears’ home matches against Glamorgan and Durham, as well as a season-ending trip to Headingley to face Yorkshire.
The New Road outfit currently sit second in Division Two, fourteen points ahead of Glamorgan in third, and are firmly in the hunt for a first promotion since 2017.
Allison has taken 18 first-class wickets in his career at an average of 28.27 with a best return of 5/32, as well as having hit 265 runs at 29.44 with a top score of 69 not out.
Essex Head Coach, Anthony McGrath, said: “We wish Ben well during his time at Worcestershire, where he will receive some valuable first-class experience and hopefully finish his individual season on a high.
“The move will also provide him with some valuable first-team cricket, which has been hard to come by so far this season due to the strength in depth we possess in our attack here.”
