Results of the 2023 Club Board Election

 

The Essex County Cricket Club Annual General Meeting took place on Tuesday evening and the results of the 2023 Board ballot were announced.

There were three places available on the Board this year with Members able to vote from eight candidates. A total of 863 ballot papers were received, equating to 26% of the 3,376 ballot papers issued.

Those nominated were:

Alan Ball
Peter Edwards
Jo Faragher
Jason Gallian
Victoria Keil
Clive Purdy
Piyush Somaiya
Graham Staples

Those elected onto the Board:

Jason Gallian: Currently a co-opted member of the Board who has now been elected to a three-year term. Jason made 50 appearances for the Club as a player between 2008 and 2009 after moving from Nottinghamshire, and since his retirement he has worked as the Director of Cricket at Felsted School. He assumed the position of Chair of the Cricket Committee in April 2023, at which point he was co-opted onto the Board.

Victoria Keil: Currently Deputy Chair of the Board who was serving a shorter term but has now been elected to a full three-year term. Victoria has 17 years’ experience as a people professional and a psychologist, working across a multitude of large global organisations. More recently, she has supported start-up/scale-up global businesses, and launched her own, VSK Associates, earlier this year.

Piyush Somaiya: Currently serving as one of the three elected representatives on the Members’ Committee, and has now been elected to the Board on a three-year term. An accountant by qualification, Piyush works in the financial services sector and has led a number of transformation projects across banking and insurance companies, focusing on process and cost efficiencies.
