Jordan Cox wins PCA May Player of the Month

Jordan Cox has been crowned as Player of the Month for May by the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings and a public vote.

The PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by Argentex, initially selected Cox among a four-man shortlist that also featured Hampshire’s Liam Dawson, Durham’s David Bedingham, and Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings.

Cox was then voted as the winner by a public poll on the PCA website, and will now receive a bespoke trophy as the winner.

The MVP takes into account batting, bowling and fielding contributions as well as match defining contributions using a unique algorithm developed with CricViz.

Cox scored a phenomenal 478 runs, including two centuries, in May leading to 118 MVP points for the month, and picked up a Match MVP award against his former team Kent thanks to a brilliant innings of 207 off 255 balls at Canterbury that earned him 47 MVP points.

He was also named in the PCA Team of the Month for May, with Matt Critchley providing further Essex representation in that XI.
