Match Report

Opener Vrishin Sangireddy top-scored with a measured 49 as Ilford edged out Shenfield with a narrow eight-run win to progress to the final of the Ravi Bopara U19 T20 Cup.

Sangireddy hit his runs off 44 balls, as Ilford, put in after losing the toss, posted 132-8, with Usman Ul-Haq contributing 26 and number ten Ruwaifi Hassan blasting a crucial 12-ball 20 at the death.

In response, some expressly economic bowling that saw no member of the Ilford attack go at more than 6.25 runs per over restricted Shenfield to 124-6.

William Howard top-scored with 44 from 36 and captain Evan Ackerman made 41, but their efforts were in vain as Shenfield fell narrowly short.

Match Report

Yousaf Choudhary’s unbeaten 62 underpinned Harold Wood’s six-wicket victory over Woodford Wells that saw them progress to the final of the Ravi Bopara U19 T20 Cup.

Choudhary batted for 52 balls, hitting nine fours and one six, as Harold Wood successfully chased down a target of 151 with an over to spare, with Saad Ali Baryar also contributing 27.

Woodford Wells had earlier posted 150-7 after being put in, but a haul of 4/22 from Baryar restricted their efforts to add anything more.

Opener Aayush Aiyar and Harry Douris both hit 38 to jointly top-score for Woodford Wells, but only two other batters made it to double figures as Harold Wood completed a relatively serene chase.

Match Report

Harold Wood were crowned champions of the 2024 Ravi Bopara U19 T20 Cup as Saad Ali Baryar continued his standout day by hitting an unbeaten 61 to tee up an eight-wicket win over Ilford.

Baryar, who helped Harold Wood to the final with a bowling return of 4/22 as well as a score of 27, also claimed 2/18 from four overs in the final alongside his blistering innings that came off just 26 balls.

It helped Harold Wood overhaul a target of 141 with more than five full overs to spare as he blasted nine fours and two sixes, while Dhruv Talati played a supporting role with a 32-ball 45.

Ilford used eight bowlers, but to no avail as their earlier score, which had been underpinned by captain Gaurav Nair’s 28 but restricted by Aditya Singh’s 3/23, was comfortably chased down.
