Essex Cricket can reveal the winners of the Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for May.
Essex Men’s batter Michael Pepper has been revealed as the winner of May’s wefinanceanycar.com Player of the Month award, whilst Essex Women’s bowler Esmae MacGregor has been reveled as the winner of May’s Tiptree Player of the Month award.
Pepper showcased his red-ball talent during the month of May with both the bat and the gloves. The 26-year old scored a total of 257 runs, including three half-centuries against Yorkshire (68 runs), Surrey (75 runs) and Hampshire (51 runs).
Contributing in the field as well, the wicket-keeper had twelve wicket involvements, with five catches coming in an innings against Worcestershire.
For Essex Women, Esmae MacGregor’s wicket taking ability was highly impressive throughout the month of May.
The right-arm seam bowler produced excellent figures of 42-3 off 7 overs against The Blaze in the One Day Cup on May 06 at Loughborough and took a total of 10 wickets across all formats and fixtures throughout the month.
Pepper and MacGregor were presented with their awards during the Vitality Blast double header at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground on June 12.

The England Men under 19s are playing in a four day Test match at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground this summer!
They will face India Men under 19s, including 14-year old IPL superstar Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who became the youngest player bought in an IPL auction after being selected by Rajasthan Royals. He is also the youngest player to score a century in IPL history!
Day one will begin on July 20 with the final day concluding on July 23.
