Essex Cricket are delighted to announce that Essex Women’s Captain Grace Scrivens has signed a new deal with the Club.
Scrivens, 22, has signed a two-year contract extension which will keep her at Essex until the end of the 2028 season.
The left-handed opening batter has led Essex Women since the inaugural professional season of 2025 and continues to do so through the 2026 campaign working closely alongside Head Coach Stephen Parry.
On signing her new deal, Scrivens said: "I am delighted to sign another contract with Essex.
“I think the direction the group is heading in is seriously exciting and I can’t wait to continue and see what we can achieve together.
“I have also loved working closely with Paz [Stephen Parry] and Browney [Nick Browne] since they joined ahead of this season. I feel they have and will continue to be really influential and important in the development of my game.”
Scrivens has represented Essex Women on 22 occasions since the start of the 2025 season, scoring 650 runs at an average of 34.21 and a high-score of 120*. The batting all-rounder has recorded three half-centuries and two centuries whilst also taking seven wickets.
Leading from the top of the order in all formats, the Essex Women's Captain has also played 17 T20 matches in which she has scored 312 runs with a high-score of 53. Her bowling figures impress further with 14 wickets at an average of 22.21 and best figures of 3-23.
During her time at the Club, the batting all-rounder has earned recognition across several England Women setups, including selection for the England Pathway squad at the start of 2025 and for England Women A. She also captained England Women A on several occasions, including during the tour of Australia and the home series against New Zealand.
The Essex Women captain was later called up to the England Performance Programme at the conclusion of last season and was named in the 15-player England Women squad for the intra-squad T20 World Cup warm-up series.
Essex Women’s Head Coach, Stephen Parry added: “I am thrilled that we have signed Grace to new contract, solidifying her role not just as a player, but as our captain.
“With this new contract, we expect her to continue to lead by example, fostering a strong team culture, and helping younger players develop their skills. We will lean on her experience and perspective to drive our success this season and those upcoming.
“This is an exciting time for Essex Cricket, and I am confident that with Scrivens at the helm, we are on the right path to achieving our goals. Let’s continue to rally behind her and support her.
“I am genuinely very excited about the opportunity to continue to work closely with Grace as she embarks on another chapter with the Club. Her potential is immense, and I believe that we can and will achieve great things together.
“This is an exciting journey for both Grace and Essex. With hard work, dedication, and a supportive environment, I am confident that we can achieve our shared goals and see Grace push for international honours in the future.”
