Essex Men's wicket-keeper batter Jordan Cox is set to make his England Test debut this week.
Cox, 25, recently signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at Essex until the end of the 2028 season and has now been named in England's XI to face New Zealand in the second Test of the series.
The wicket-keeper batter recently featured in Essex's Rothesay County Championship match against Leicestershire, scoring a superb 204 from 201 balls. Cox was withdrawn from the match to join up with the England squad ahead of the Test, which gets under way on Wednesday.
The long-awaited opportunity comes after injury setbacks previously denied Cox a Test debut. He is now set to earn his maiden Test cap at the Kia Oval on Wednesday.
