Josh Rymell’s stylish innings paved the way towards Essex’s seven-wicket Second XI T20 South Group victory over Middlesex at Garon Park.

The 22-year-old right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 80 off just 35 balls during an exciting 43 minutes in the middle, hitting twelve 4s and three 6s as Essex secured their success inside twelve overs.

Charlie Allison contributed 31 towards the win. Ishaan Kaushal, Josh de Caires and Thilan Walallawita with the Middlesex wickets.

Earlier, Middlesex had posted a modest 146 for seven. Sam Robson’s half-century was the highlight for the visitors. AS Patel returned figures of two for 22 from his four-over spell, while Aaron Beard took 2/33.
