Essex Cricket Foundation

Introduction

Welcome to The Essex Cricket Foundation, the official charity of Essex Cricket. Formed in the Autumn of 2015, the Essex Cricket Foundation works towards enhancing the cricketing environment in Essex for all.

From assisting Clubs at grassroots level to assisting the next Alastair Cook along the cricketing pathway, we are helping to ensure that Cricket is continued to be played for many generations to come.

Money raised by The Essex Cricket Foundation is spent on delivering a variety of different programmes to ensure people from all sorts of backgrounds have the opportunity to experience the sport. Funds are spent on providing disability cricket, supporting women & girls initiatives, as well as street programmes in urban areas across the County.

Our Mission

The Club's charity work was established in 2010 as Essex Cricket and Community Trust before becoming the Essex Cricket Foundation, the official charitable arm of Essex County Cricket Club in 2015.

Through fundraising initiatives and donations, the foundation typically supports individuals and organisations within Essex, East London and East Anglia, in the following areas:

• Funding outreach projects that promote the physical and mental health benefits of participating in recreational sport, specifically cricket, whilst enhancing community cohesion or providing the opportunity for education and access to employment. Supported projects will normally be able to show that there is a funding need due to age, gender, disability or their particular specific socio-economic environment.

• Funding local young player pathways, including the Essex Cricket academies, to ensure that young cricketers within Essex, East London and East Anglia reach their full potential.

• Supporting former and current Essex cricket players through education and retraining, acute medical needs or in times of personal financial hardship.
