
Born in Manly, Sydney, Australia, Jason Edward Riche Gallian is the Essex Women’s Batting Consultant and a board member of Essex County Cricket Club.
The former right-handed opening batter played three Test matches for England in a distinguished career spanning over 15 years and now shares his knowledge and expertise with the Essex Women’s team.
Gallian’s domestic career saw him feature for Lancashire, Nottinghamshire, and Essex, beginning with the Red Roses before moving to the Outlaws in 1998. During his time at Trent Bridge, he amassed over 8,400 runs, including 24 centuries, and also served as captain. In 2007, Gallian joined Essex, played 24 first-class matches, and earned his County Cap, becoming number 149.
After retiring from professional cricket in 2009, Gallian transitioned into coaching and administration. He became Director of Cricket at Felsted School in Essex and, in April 2023, was appointed Chair of the Cricket Committee at Essex County Cricket Club.
