Your Visit To The E.C.G

Entry into The E.C.G

There are two entrance points to The E.C.G on match days. The Main Gate, which is accessible via New Writtle Street, is located down the driveway which includes your security checks as you enter. The River Gate is the closest entrance to Chelmsford Train & Bus Stations and spectators are required to enter via Sky Blue Pastures (the park area before the entrance to the ground), where the ticket collection point is also located.

All spectators are required to scan their Print @ Home / Match ticket at the entrance points.

Gates open two hours before the start of play, so get down early to soak up the atmosphere and avoid the rush before Blast Off!

Finding Your Seat

The E.C.G, home of the Essex Eagles, is split into four areas which are named and coloured; Blue, Red, Yellow and Green. This includes 29 individual blocks.

Seats are numbered clockwise between 1 and 478, starting in the Tom Pearce Stand (Blocks 1 – 9).

Food & Drink Options

Spectators can enjoy a brand new range of food and drinks at The E.C.G this summer, with Lebanese (kebabs, burgers, wraps & salads), and a new range of other favourites such as burgers, hot dogs and chips. Additionally, there are further improved vegetarian options on offer, including falafel wraps.

Our Lebanese option is available behind Block 15 in the Red Area, where our in-house Spinners Bar is also located, serving hot food and a full range of drinks. Located in the Blue Area of the ground is the Food Court which has Burgers & Hot Dogs, as well as a doughnut stand – all of which can be found by the Essex Cricket Store.

Please note you cannot bring any alcohol or glass into the ground for all NatWest T20 Blast matches. Alcoholic drinks will be readily available around the ground and will be served is the Essex Fan Cups which include new designs for 2016. The price will include a £1 deposit which can be claimed back at any time from the bar areas, and will be exchanged for a fresh cup every time you buy a drink. Alternatively, you can keep your Fan Cup as a keepsake to take home with you!

In addition to the new food offering, spectators can also enjoy a whole variety of drinks at The E.C.G on matchdays. Alcoholic drinks include Fosters, San Miguel, Guinness, Thatcher’s Gold, Greene King IPA and wine, along with a wide range of soft drinks.

The Eagle Pub

Especially for NatWest T20 Blast matches in 2016, spectators can visit ‘The Eagle’ pub, behind the Pavilion in the Blue Area. There will be an extended range of drinks at the bar, accompanied by our Live Music stage, courtesy of Woodland Group. Local musicians will be performing through the competition for spectators to enjoy.
