Dan Lawrence once again highlighted the great strides he has made throughout the 2016 season, with a stunning century which showed attributes of professionalism, skill and cutting edge.
He spoke to EssexTV after play on day 2 about his own innings and how he feels Essex are placed within the match.
Coming from 226 balls, Lawrence had to dig deep to get his side back on track, which included a 125 run partnership with his captain, Ryan ten Doeschate when Essex were languishing on 68-5.

Day Three begins at 11am on Thursday in Leicestershire as Essex will be looking to build up a considerable lead over the hosts.
