On Tuesday 6 September Essex Academy players, Will Buttleman and Ben Allison both represented English Schools Cricket Association (ESCA) against MCC Schools in the annual 50-over match Bunbury match at Lord’s.
ESCA batted first and with Will Buttleman opening the innings he went on to score a memorable 104 in a total of 261-7. This was a very exciting innings at the home of cricket for the 16 year old Academy player and is certainly the highlight of his career to date.
Ben Allison, who is also on the Essex Academy opened the bowling and took a wicket in his first over to help ESCA win by 51 runs – a great day for both Essex players at a special venue.
This was a good way to finish a long season for both Will and Ben and we look forward to more exciting times ahead for both.
