Chris Silverwood and his team head out to Dubai today to start their pre-season tour ahead of the 2017 season.
With the Club now being in Division One, the trip will provide Silverwood the perfect chance to put the squad through their paces ahead of an exciting season.
Ryan ten Doeschate’s side will play a two-day game against UAE at The Dubai International Cricket Stadium based in Dubai Sport City. The team will also challenge Middlesex in a 50 over game and play two Inter Squad matches at The ICCA.
Dubai will see all the squad, except Neil Wagner, join up for the first time this pre-season with South African Test spinner Simon Harmer flying direct to Dubai to meet his new teammates.
The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will allow Essex spectators to attend, with entry via gate A11 in the Green Stand.
The ICCA is free to access but there will be no food available for supporters inside either venue.
