The Eagles 2018 T20 Blast fixtures were announced today, with Anthony McGrath’s team starting their campaign with a home match against Sussex Sharks.
The south-coast side will visit The Cloudfm County Ground on Wednesday 4 July, with a host of big names due to be involved.
Captain Ryan ten Doeschate, Batsman Varun Chopra and all-rounder Ravi Bopara will all feature for the home side, while Jofra Archer and Luke Wright will look to provide the fireworks for the visitors.
Two days later, rivals Middlesex will head to Fortress Chelmsford and the Eagles will be hoping for two home victories in front of sell-out crowds to get their campaign off to the best possible start.
Away trips include matches against Surrey, Kent Spitfires, Somerset, Glamorgan, Hampshire and Middlesex. While the Eagles will also travel to the Cheltenham Festival to take on Gloucestershire in a T20 Blast contest.
As well as the opening two fixtures, Ryan ten Doeschate’s troops welcome Glamorgan, Hampshire, Surrey, Gloucestershire and Kent Spitfires to The Cloudfm County Ground.
Sell-out crowds are expected once again at Fortress Chelmsford, with the Eagles intent on improving on a disappointing group stage exit in 2017.
