The Club can confirm that Members attending the away fixture against Warwickshire in the Specsavers County Championship, which has recently been moved from Edgbaston to Blackfinch New Road, will receive free entry.
The match is scheduled to start on Saturday 13 July and further to free entry, Essex Members will gain access to the Members only facility (The Graeme Hick Pavilion) by showing their Members Card to the relevant stewards.
The match was due to be played at Edgbaston, but with the fixture clashing with the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup schedule, Warwickshire will have to play at least one County Championship fixture away from their home ground.
Warwickshire explored the possibility of using an out ground and also considered moving the fixture to Edgbaston Community Sports Ground, but neither of these options were deemed practical. After careful consideration, the decision was then made to move the game to a nearby first-class venue, with Blackfinch New Road being the most suitable.
