Chelmsford to host England Women this summer

The Cloud County Ground will host further international cricket in 2022 with England facing South Africa in a Vitality Women’s IT20 on Thursday 21 July.

England are set to play both South Africa and India this summer. South Africa will be the first visitors, competing in a multi-format series which takes in an LV= Insurance Test match, three Royal London Internationals and three Vitality IT20s across June and July.

After the Commonwealth Games and The Hundred, India will be the opponent for three Vitality IT20s and three Royal London Internationals, culminating in an ODI at Lord’s on Saturday 24 September.

All games will be broadcast live on Sky Sports with two games simulcast live on the BBC.

John Stephenson, Essex Cricket Chief Executive and Interim Chair, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting more international cricket this year and we look forward to welcoming both England and South Africa to Chelmsford.

“I’ve attended several of the Women’s internationals at The Cloud County Ground in recent years and the level of cricket is outstanding. The international sides always put on a good show and attract strong crowds, making it enjoyable for all.”
