Healthwatch Essex to host Fella’s Fair at The Cloud County Ground

Essex Cricket and Healthwatch Essex are excited to partner up to raise awareness of men’s health with the ‘Fella’s Fair’ at The Cloud County Ground.

Taking place on Thursday 26 September, the first day of Essex’s Vitality County Championship match against Surrey, the event will gather a range of leading health and care organisations to provide information, advice, and support on topics relating to men’s health.

From 10am to 4pm, match-goers will have the opportunity to speak to professionals on topics relating to many aspects of men’s mental and physical health.

Some of the organisations in attendance will include Robin Cancer Trust, Andy’s Man Club, and Active Essex.

Previously, the charity has run successful football and comedy-themed events and are now pleased to bring the event to The Cloud County Ground, where it will take place in the Level Head Bar area behind The Doug Insole Pavilion.

Scott Tatum, Healthwatch Essex Engagement Manager, said “The Healthwatch Essex Fellas Fair is the perfect environment for men to seek information and guidance around their mental and physical wellbeing.

“We work to ensure men can identify and gain access to the support they may require. Hosting these events help break the stigma around health conditions and gives men the opportunity to seek the support in a judgement free environment.

“Doing this through sporting events helps create a relaxed atmosphere in which conversations can occur naturally.”
