Essex Cricket’s Simon Harmer has been named in the South African Test squad ahead of their upcoming series against India.
The Pretoria-born 36-year-old has been included in the 15-player Proteas squad to face India in Kolkata and Guwahati next month, as South Africa look ahead to their next Test series after a drawn series against Pakistan in October.
The two-match Test series begins on 14 November at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and concludes on 22 November at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, which is hosting its first Test match.
Simon Harmer’s inclusion in the squad comes after his brilliant display against Pakistan where he claimed a total of 13 wickets across the two Test matches and incredibly reached the 1,000 first-class wickets milestone!

1st Test: India v South Africa, 14-18 November 2025, Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
2nd Test: India v South Africa, 22-26 November 2025, ACA Stadium, Guwahati.
