Champions. After 15 matches that included six wins, six draws and three defeats, Essex gained promotion into Division One of the Specsavers County Championship. It was Ryan ten Doeschate and James Foster who helped Essex over the line on Day Two of the match against Glamorgan. Four of the wins came in front of the home crowd at Chelmsford with the season concluding next week when Essex face rivals, Kent in the final game of the season at Canterbury.
It was a special match, which saw players, staff, Members and supporters come together to celebrate a fantastic achievement with celebration after play on the pitch in front of the Pavilion.
The season has been full of highlights, some which include individual achievements of 1,000 Championship runs for Tom Westley, Ryan ten Doeschate and Nick Browne, and 50+ wickets for Graham Napier and Jamie Porter.
