We are now just weeks away from the University match versus Cambridge MCCU and the start of the new campaign but before this action arrives, the Essex squad have jetted off to the United Arab Emirates for a two-week warm weather training camp.
The Tour includes three matches against fellow county sides, Somerset and Worcestershire but it will also be a chance for the team to train away from Chelmsford after many of the squad spending their winter overseas.
Head Coach, Anthony McGrath caught up with Essex Cricket TV before the trip to look ahead to Abu Dhabi, but also discussed the past few months at Chelmsford working with the UK-based players.
