Sam Cook has been added to the Trent Rockets squad for the inaugural Hundred competition following the Vitality Wildcard Draft.
The eight teams in The Hundred had the opportunity to each add one last player to their sides earlier today. Northern Superchargers selected Durham all-rounder Ben Raine as the first pick. Oval Invincibles chose to snap up Kent youngster Jordan Cox next, with Cook then being selected third by Trent Rockets.
The 23-year-old is rewarded for his outstanding early form in this year’s Vitality Blast. The Chelmsford born seamer has taken 15 wickets so far in the competition at an average of just 17.60, with his best figures of 4/15 coming in a dominant victory against Surrey at The Kia Oval.
After the conclusion of the Draft, Cook said: “We’ve got some massive names in our squad like Rashid Khan and Joe Root and it will be great playing with them.
“It’s going to be fun and I’m looking forward to taking some wickets to help us get to the business end of the competition.”
