Essex Kestrels recorded a hard-fought three-wicket victory over the Isle of Wight in their latest Super9s Regional South-East encounter at Harlow Town CC.
Having taken the ball, Essex restricted the visitors to 87 for eight with Bradley Donavon returning excellent bowling figures of three for 19. Meanwhile, Amera Law took 2/17 and Joel Barker a superb 2/6. C Hebberd top-scored for the Isle of Wight with 30.
Kayton Evans gave the Essex batters plenty to think about, taking three for 20, while Pete Brown claimed 2/8. However, aided by some wayward bowling, the home side reached their target. Stephen Denham top-scored with 17 as Essex confirmed their first victory of the season.
