Paul Walter to return to Brisbane Heat for Big Bash League

Paul Walter will once again join up with Brisbane Heat for the upcoming edition of Australia’s T20 Big Bash League.

Walter, 30, was instrumental in the Heat being crowned champions of last year’s tournament, as he claimed 17 wickets, the fourth-highest of any bowler in the competition, at an average of just 17.11.

He also held on to nine catches, including the tournament-sealing one of Steve O’Keefe in the final against Sydney Sixers, as the Heat ended an 11-year wait for a second BBL crown.

This year’s competition gets underway on Sunday 15 December, with Perth Scorchers hosting Melbourne Stars, before Walter’s Heat begin their defence three days later, also against the Stars.

From then, the Heat will host Adelaide Strikers on Sunday 22 December in a repeat of last year’s Challenger play-off match, before travelling to Perth themselves on Boxing Day.
