Essex young bowler, Jamie Porter helped side in an encouraging opening day of the Specsavers County Championship match against Leicestershire at the Fischer County Ground.
After putting the home side into bat, Porter took two early victims in the first over as Horton and Dexter were dismissed in consecutive balls, leaving them 2-2. Leicestershire were bowled out for 238 runs with Porter ending with figures of 4-50 off his 14.1 overs.
