Graham Napier signed off his fantastic Essex career in fitting style by winning the August Player Of The Month award sponsored by Devines.
After the Specsavers County Championship Match at Colchester at the beginning of the month, Napes was always going to be favourite to win Player Of The Month. He took a 5-for and smashed a century in the same match against Sussex on his old ground. He went on to take 21 wickets in the month, including his 50th championship wicket for the season, leaving the majority of people questioning his retirement!
