Essex Cricket held the 20th Annual Women and Girls Dinner at The Mount Avenue Banqueting Suite in Shenfield to celebrate another super exciting year of cricket.
The evening was a chance to look back on the past year with a number of impressive performances to celebrate. There were also two keynote speakers, Grace Melhuish (Girls Pathway Lead) and Angela Tuff (Umpire) focusing on the opportunities to build a career in the game.
Tilly Callaghan scooped a hat-trick of awards as she picked up Players’ Player, Bowler of the Year and Player of the Year following her leading wicket-taking season, which helped Essex reach the final of the T20 Cup and a positive second-place finish in the London Championship.
Callaghan shared Players’ Player with 17-year-old Hollie Dring-Richardson, who also picked up Young Player of the Year. Scarlett Hughes took home Batter of the Year after scoring 355 runs at a strike-rate of 119.93 across all formats with a high-score of 70 coming against Cambridgeshire in April.
All age groups were invited to attend, with cricket being the main focus of the celebration. A full list of winners can be found below:-
