On Friday, Essex legend Graham Napier was our guest at The Cloud County Ground to officially open the ground’s new ‘152 Bar’.
The opening took place ahead of the Vitality Blast game against Sussex Sharks, and he received a warm welcome by Essex fans on the outfield ahead of play by sharing his memories of a historical day in the Club’s history.
The ‘152 Bar’ is named in recognition of Napier’s iconic innings of 152 runs from just 58 balls against the Sussex Sharks back in 2008. This remarkable feat set a world record for the most sixes in a T20 innings, a performance that remains etched in the memories of supporters. His explosive batting that day included an astonishing 16 sixes.
The ‘152 Bar’ is located within the Essex Fanzone at The Cloud County Ground and is open for all Vitality Blast matches this season, with a beer garden and live music in the build up to the cricket.
