Tom Westley revealed as wefinanceanycar.com September Player of the Month

Essex Club Captain Tom Westley has been revealed as the winner of September’s wefinanceanycar.com Player of the Month award.

Westley enjoyed a stellar end to the 2024 season, hitting two centuries in the space of three innings to total 287 runs across the month at an average of 95.67.

He struck 122, his first hundred of the campaign, at home to Nottinghamshire to kick-start his profitable month, before rounding the season out with 135 against Surrey.

In between, he added a useful 30 from just 22 balls away to Warwickshire on an especially tricky pitch, with his knock put into context by the fact that game finished inside two days as the hosts were bowled out for 78 and 114.

Westley will be presented with his award at the Club’s End of Season Gala Dinner tonight (Wednesday 02 October) at Braxted Park.

The 2025 international fixture list has been revealed, with Chelmsford braced for high-octane action as England Women take on West Indies Women on Monday 26 May at 2:30pm.

In what’s set to be an unmissable afternoon of IT20 cricket, some of the world’s best T20 cricketers will go head to head in a T20 set in the heart of Essex.

What’s more, the game will be played on the Spring Bank Holiday making it the perfect day out with friends and family.
