Adam Milne

New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne signed for the second half of the Eagles’ NatWest T20 Blast Group Stage campaign in 2016. Milne will join the team at the end of June, and feature in seven T20 Blast clashes.

Milne’s main attribute is his express pace, which has seen him pick up 58 wickets in all Twenty20 cricket at an average of 24.00. The 23 year old made his Twenty20 debut for his country in 2010, and has gone on to play 14 T20Is. A key figure in Limited Overs cricket for the Black Caps, Milne has a Twenty20 International bowling average of 20.83. His best Twenty20 figures, of 4/37, were achieved against Pakistan on January 15 this year.

Head Coach Chris Silverwood commented at the time of the signing; “Adam is a young bowler with plenty of international experience already. He is exactly what we were looking for from an overseas player, with his real pace offering something different to our attack.”

Belhus Cricket Club win the Essex County Indoor Finals

On Saturday 23rd January 2016, The Essex Auto Group Graham Gooch Indoor Cricket Centre played host to the Essex County Indoor Cricket Finals Day. The Day comprised of two Semi-Finals followed by the Final.

The first Semi-Final saw Belhus Cricket Club beat Harlow Town by 44 runs. Belhus batted first and amassed 120 all out from their innings but Harlow Town could only muster 76 all out in reply.

The second Semi-Final saw Wickford reach a total of 113 all out in the first innings before Witham responded by reaching 116 runs for the loss of 1 wicket and claiming victory by 5 wickets.

Belhus took on Witham in the final, which was a tense, low scoring match, but it was Belhus who secured the victory by 1 wicket from the final ball of the match. This was after Witham posted a total of 82 all out before Belhus etched their name on the trophy as the last pairing took their side to 85-5.

Essex County Cricket Club and Essex County Cricket Board would like to congratulate Belhus on their victory in the competition. Belhus will now represent Essex in the ECB regional play-off match against Ipswich CC from Suffolk. The match is due to be played in February and we wish Belhus every success.
