Dan Lawrence will captain the England Lions during the three-day practice match against an England Test squad XI.
The match begins on Wednesday 23 November and will be used as competitive practice for England ahead of the Test series against Pakistan.
Lawrence is joined by bowler, Sam Cook in Abu Dhabi for the England Lions training camp and the pair will both be in red-ball action this week before remaining in the UAE to play for the Chennai Braves in this year’s Abu Dhabi T10 competition alongside their Eagles teammates, Adam Rossington and Michael Pepper.
Revision:
The match ended in a draw with the Test XI batting first on Day One. Dan Lawrence was in the wickets taking 2/57, whilst Sam Cook opened the bowling and ended with 1/62.
After declaring overnight on 501-7, the Lions started well with Haseeb Hameed scoring 145 runs. Unfortunately, Lawrence was able to shine with bat, scoring 8 and the warm-up contest was brought to a close a day early with the Lions ending on 415-9 in the first innings.
